It’s so nice to meet you
Hi! I’m Alexandria Cheeseman (but you can call me Alex).
I’m from a small city in Pennsylvania named Easton. All throughout high school I knew I wanted to do something in the art field. I always took all of the art classes offered to me, and one year they advertised a graphic design course. I enrolled and immediately fell in love. Since then I have been enveloped with a deep admiration for not only the aesthetic behind things, but the why. “Why was this designed this way”, and “Why did they choose that font”.
I chose the Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport to study graphic design, and gained my bachelor’s degree in 2021. They had a wonderful hands-on teaching approach, and I really thrived in their program. The program focused mainly on “off-computer studies” the first year or two, then once you grasped the fundamental concepts such as color theory and art literacy, they moved on to teaching us the programs we all know and love today in classes consisting of typography, photography, and illustration.
When I graduated from college, ready to take on the graphic design world, I started looking for positions all over the United States. I thought it was a better time than any to be able to travel and explore new cities other than the ones I knew so well in Pennsylvania. I don’t think I could’ve gotten more opposite of Easton than Las Vegas, Nevada, where I reside today. Since being here I’ve made so many new friends, gotten married, and started a whole life aside from the one I left on the East Coast.
I’m so grateful to be able to experience all that I have, and I’m so excited to continue this journey making plenty of new memories along the way.
Some less professional info about me
Hi! Me again!
Now that we have all of the formalities out of the way, here’s a little information about me that’s not on my resume.
I have two pets, a cat: Mystery, and a dog: Pillsbury, both shown above, who are quite literally the loves of my life (don’t tell my husband).
I have about 4,000 hours clocked in the Sims 4, a game I have played since it came out. Fun fact though: I have never made it through one in-game week, so that’s strictly 4,000 hours of designing/building houses and people to put in them!
I love baking and I’m getting better each day! I’ve mastered cookies so far, and my next venture is homemade bread.
All in all, I am a very loyal and caring person, who loves to play video games, bake, and spend time with my loved ones. Whether it’s on the couch on a random Tuesday night watching Grey’s Anatomy, or Facetiming my sister from 3,000 miles away as she gets ready for work in the morning, I’m always down for a chat, and love to help wherever I can.
